Event Description

This class is designed for seekers new to the practice of witchcraft and those who wish to further ground their knowledge. We will cover a range of topics both practical and theoretical in modern witchcraft, with a special emphasis on modern Wiccan traditions. We teach from the foundation of the “Rule of 100” – nothing is 100 percent true for 100 percent of witches 100 percent of the time. Topics that we will cover include:

  • Where did all this come from? The history and context
  • Cosmology, Pantheons and the Wheel of the Year
  • How to work with elements, tools, and create rituals
  • Ethics
  • Practical mediation and energy work

Instructor: Alythia

Entrance Fee: $10 donation requested

Alythia of the Ash is a witch and High Priestess in the Church of the Knotted Ash,  a "wicca-adjacent" witchcraft tradition originated in Buffalo, New York. She currently maintains the outpost of the Church located in Northern Virginia. A certified Tarot reader for more than a decade, Alythia has been teaching the Craft to students since 2018. She is the author of the blog, "Witchful Thinking from Alythia" and its companion podcast, "Witchful Thinking Out Loud." Alythia wants you to know that anything here that passes for wisdom comes from surviving her own stupidity, and that the Craft is for everyone who seeks it with authenticity.
