Lakota Open House

Greetings!!!

We are so excited to have the great opportunity to host a Lakota open house. We have been deeply touched by the Third World conditions that prevail on the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota--home of the Oglala Lakota.

We have been searching for a way to both educate the public as to the conditions there and to help improve the quality of life for our Lakota friends. We have finally managed to connect with people who are willing to help us towards these goals.

We hope that you can join us on Thursday, October 14 starting at 6:30 PM for an evening that will not only be educational and fun, but will include Lakota songs, stories and more!

Craft items made by Lakota youth will be available for sale. The items are made with love and gratitude from recycled materials, so they are earth-friendly as well as beautiful and culturally significant.

Please bring a drum or rattle if you have one. We do have a few at the shop that may be used. Our visitors have requested that there be no cameras or recording devices at this event, so we respectfully ask all to comply.

There is no set fee for attendance but donations would be appreciated. The purchase of one of the affordable craft items would also enable the families to be self-supporting and would be very much appreciated. All proceeds will go back to the young artisans on the reservation, helping them to help themselves.
