Event Description

sponsored by house-eclipse.org and Orthaevelve.
This is a group event for members and friends of the House of the Eclipse. New members are welcome. The owners of Sticks & Stones are not managing this event, so please contact Orthaevelve@yahoo.com directly for questions and more information.

The House of the Eclipse's purpose and mission is to act as tutors, teachers and aides to modern vampires (psychic and sanguine), therians, and otherkins. Our goal is the sharing of information freely with others to promote understanding and tolerance of modern vampires, therians and otherkin alike.

Everyone, even non-members are welcome to join us. If you need directions or help planning public transportation, drop an email to Orthaevelve@yahoo.com.

"What does it mean to be Otherkin? It means to have a resonance with, or to feel that one's soul belongs to one of the archetypal magical species of lore. Fae, elven, dark elven, dark fae, vampire, dragon, elemental, Therian/Shapeshifter, angelkin/Nephilim, Demonkin/Fallen or shadowkin are words used to describe those of specific otherkin types. So how do we go about living stable, productive lives while having these resonances or beliefs? How do we explain our natures to others or hide them, depending on the situation? How do we interact and cope with our families or with other magical folk, who may feel that we are too "out there" even for them, no matter how we live our lives?

This discussion group is intended for us to provide support for one another, air our feelings about our natures and perhaps educate curious friends and family. We can vent, as long as we do so politely and sanely and discuss some of the feelings and memories or experiences we have and compare and contrast them with others. The only request I have is that personal issues brought up in the group stay in the group if possible."
