Writing for your Spirit

Misti McCloud has spent over 15 years as a writer, workshop leader, government consultant and corporate project specialist. While writing for audiences within the business arena as well as higher education, she also studied with award-winning writers who taught her the importance of the connection between writing and nurturing the spirit.

Drawing on several years’ experience as a member of the International Women’s Writing Guild (www.iwwg.org) as well as her studies with published authors, she now provides opportunities for others to discover ways they may cultivate spiritual growth through writing.

Passionate about being connected with spirit and discovering what we each need to nurture our own, she is uniquely qualified to help you write about the subjects that connect you most deeply with your inner self.

Writing For Your Spirit uses a combination of writing exercises, prompts and meditative aids as tools for seeking the most genuine path to write from your spiritual heart. This workshop will provide an opportunity to answer fundamental questions all writers address, including the what/where/when/how/ and why of our writing. Beyond the basics, we will also have a safe space where we may contemplate what our spirit needs us to write about, which may sometimes be different than what our minds think we should write about. Some of our exercises will help us in our quest to tell the difference between the two.

As we move through the workshop, participants will have an opportunity to connect with themselves and their spirit through methods ranging from meditation to play, with a focus on determining what works for each individual without judgment from others. By the end of the experience, each participant will have an opportunity to write a piece that resonates with their inner core.

Though some materials will be available for use, please feel free to bring your favorite writing implements as well as some unusual ones – get creative!! Sparkle pens, old notecards, journals, napkins, markers – THINK OUTSIDE THE WRITER’S BOX!!!
