Barbara Wilkins Speech Writing: How To Write A Good One?

Speech writing is in lots of ways similar writing a paper, apart from that there is no penalty for spelling and punctuation mistakes. You should not try to write words in your speech that you are not relaxed pronouncing or don't know the meaning of because it can lead to a less fluently delivered speech. To be able to write a high-quality speech is a lot like making a good cake. Having the right elements is key for it's success. Every… Continue

Sharianna Hiding Behind a Mask

Two different situations over the weekend made me think about people and relationships. Tying it into last week's post, people come into our lives for a reason, and we often need a kick in the buns to learn the lesson they bring to us. Story #1 One of my karaoke regulars asked me why I wasn't married ... of course he was trying to hit on me. My immediate, smart-aleck response was "No one is good enough!" along with an evil laugh as I swaggered away. He looked shocked and tried to look hu… Continue

Sharianna Can I have a do-over? Take a Mulligan? Go to Take Two?

I know, it's a cliche, but "Haven't I met you somewhere before?" comes out of my mouth when I meet certain people. Or I enter into a friendship or relationship and it feels like I've been with this person forever when it's only been days or weeks. Then there are those people who I have known forever & just know too much about to attribute to this lifetime alone. I've had conversations with a couple of friends about this. It's interesting to hear what others share about their experiences. Ok… Continue

Sticks and Stones Just wanted you to be the first to know.....

....that we now have beautifully made cloaks (just in time for Samhain!) We currently only have 4 lined cloaks in black/purple, black/black, green/green, and purple/black: This striking piece is a long, hooded cloak made from a velvet material (fairly lightweight) and then entirely lined in satin, including the hood. It has shaped shoulders and closes in front with a long tie made from the same black velvet material as the body of the cloak. The cloak lining is fully attached along the front se… Continue

Animal Teachers (Va. Carper) Creating A Medicine Wheel

A glimpse into my classes on the Medicine Wheel Medicine Wheels are places to pray, meditate, contemplate and become one with the universe. They become our sacred place, helping us to strengthen our connection to the universe. They help us bridge the gap between the spirit world and the physical world, bringing harmony to both through us. The general Medicine Wheel has 36 (thirty six) stones. Each stone is a “tool” to help us understand ourselves in relation to the universe. They teach u… Continue

Akasha Insomnia sharing on the New Moon in nowhere, TX =))

Just sending out good vibes cuz I have too many right now! Lol. Seriously, I'm in nowhere, TX (it's close to Ok, Ark & La in that little corner of TX) & it's pitch black after a series of storms (I'm used to city lights) so the energy is beautiful. I'm here helping my mother by making her booty go to the doctor(been years-sigh) & thus brought her groceries, etc. so she can't complain she can't afford it. I know she has a few skin cancers that need be removed-we're redheads-it happens… Continue

Tegwedd ShadowDancer Glad to know the Hippies are still around

Those of us who were in the counter-culture of the 60s have become Pagans and hang out on the Internet. In the 60s I had mixed feelings about the flower children of the late 60s going into the early 70s. I liked taking showers and baths, still do. Why is it that as you age the site of your chief pleasures changes from the bedroom to the bathroom? Taking a good dump and following it with a shower and self-grooming session can improve the tenor of your whole day. They do for me, anyway.I also like… Continue
